Some lucky guests are welcomed with a cup of tea and slice of cake, so here's a famous Welsh recipe for a delicious fruity slice - it literally means 'speckled bread'. Thanks to Susan at The Beach House
2 cups of mixed fruit, soaked overnight in cup of strong tea
Next day add
1 egg
1 cup SR flour
Tspn baking powder
Tblsp marmelade (optional)
Tspn mixed spice (optional)
Pour into two long loaf tins
Cook at 150 for approx 1 hour
Yum!

It always happens when it's Spring!
I'm sure you know that feeling as spring approaches - days get lighter, temperatures start warming up and everything is stirring including us as winter hibernation comes to an end - we're all getting enthusiastic about all sorts of things.
Well, just this happened this morning. Get a group of us together and we got carried away and decided to set up a blog to tell the world about all the excellent accommodation that there is down in our part of the world.
It's a wonderful corner on the edge of Chichester Harbour - masses to do from walking, swimming, sailing, digging sandcastles....to visiting National Trust houses, Fishbourne and local museums and galleries. We're even on the doorstep of Goodwood. Good for the soul, good for the mind, good for the body.
So here goes - there are two categories: bed and breakfast and self catering and we've even got a page for late availability/offers - so check it out - you never know what you might spot.
Please note that only some of the properties featured on this blog have been vetted but of course, as owners, we'd strongly recommend them!
